The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 by a small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. Today, the association has a membership of ~7,000 active marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada.

SMPS National offers a marketing conference, national seminars, awards programs, publications, and educational resources to highlight the latest trends in marketing and business development in the design and construction industries. Recently chartered from being an affiliate organization of SMPS Philadelphia, the SMPS Central Pennsylvania Chapter serves members in Adams, Berks, Centre, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, Snyder, Union and York counties of Pennsylvania. The Chapter, whose meetings occur monthly between September and May, provides excellent networking and educational opportunities to various levels of A/E/C professionals.
