Buchart Horn, Inc., an ENR top 275 Engineering and Architectural firm, is seeking an experienced individual to lead the firm’s business development and sales activities in our Pennsylvania Transportation Market. Will work with Regional and Corporate management to develop new business in the transportation market. Duties include strategic sales planning; identifying and qualifying leads and opportunities; proposal writing; marketing; and direct selling of our services. The ability to grow existing client relationships and develop relationships with new clients is a must. Working knowledge of the A/E business relating to PennDOT and the PA Turnpike Commission is required. The position will be based in our York, PA Corporate Headquarters.

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for coordinating and performing business development activities, including primarily prospecting and targeted marketing of new business clients; public communications; and community relations for a regional office of a multi-office engineering firm.  Also responsible for tracking leads and the management of proposal and qualifications packages, events preparation and attendance, ad preparation and information management in the firm’s CRM software.  The Business Development Specialist also supports the Regional Manager in providing related scheduling, monitoring, tracking and reporting.

 

Position Qualifications: The Business Development Specialist has three to five years of experience in sales, marketing or business development experience in a professional environment, preferably engineering or construction related.  Demonstrated understanding of current engineering consulting industry, market trends, and philosophies is required.  A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred but four additional years of prior experience may be substituted.  Strong leadership and organizational skills a must.  Must be highly motivated, creative, flexible, results-oriented and have the ability to prioritize appropriately.  Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, good judgment, a professional demeanor, and the ability to provide an excellent first impression of the Company.  Must work well with all levels of company personnel and establish effective working relationships throughout the company.  Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint is required.  The ability to work independently, with minimal supervision is required.  This position requires frequent travel to client facilities, association meetings, conferences, and other regional offices which will include working outside of normal business hours.  The Business Development Specialist has the legal right to work in the U.S.  HRG is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
